L’importanza biologica dell’acqua. Lipidi, carboidrati, proteine e modelli di membrana. Composizione e struttura chimica del DNA. Proprietà chimico-fisiche del DNA. Grandezza e complessità del genoma. Modalità di compattamento del DNA. Il nucleoide. I Procarioti. Scomparto nucleare (nucleolo, cromatina e cromosomi, i territori nucleari, la carioteca: morfologia e funzioni.). Ribosomi (biogenesi, morfologia e funzioni). |

Course objectives | The Biology course provides the student with the essential theoretical knowledge of biology. The topics of the Course constitute the tools necessary for the comprehension of the vital processes at cellular and molecular level. The notions acquired contribute to the understanding of the biological processes underlying normal and pathological conditions. |
Prerequisites | Basic knowledge of Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry |
Teaching methods | The course requires compulsory attendance and is divided into frontal lessons. |
Evaluation methods | Learning by the student will be verified through a written test, unique, at the end of the course. The written test is not preparatory to a possible oral test. The written test consists of a multiple choice test consisting of 15 questions. The test also includes the writing of the nucleotide formula. The student will have 1 hour to perform the test that will be carried out in the classroom. The test is considered passed if you answer correctly at least half of the questions assigned. The commission will calculate the arithmetic average of the marks obtained in the 3 written tests related to the 3 modules that make up the course. |
Other information | It is advisable to consult with the teacher in case of doubts or perplexities regarding course topics by requesting an appointment via email |
