Prerequisiti | Psicologia Fisiologica, Neuropsicologia, Psicologia Generale |
Nello specifico: |

Teaching language | The lessons are provided in Italian. |
Contents | The course of Cognitive Neuroscience is an integrated course and it consists of 2 modules: |
Textbook and course materials | Reference for Erasmus/Foreign Students (Fabbri can provide versions of requested books if students do not find them): |
Course objectives | At the end of the course the student must demonstrate that he-she is able to apply his-her knowledge, understanding, and problem-solving skills to new issues. Furthermore, the student must know how to communicate the knowledge acquired to specialists and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous way. A specific attention is focused on the presentation and the description of experiments presented during the course for explaining the aspects of cognitive neuroscience. The course aims to provide advanced preparation in the theoretical design and operational fields of cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Furthermore, the course aims to provide basic knowledge on the main theoretical models of normal and pathological cognitive functions and the biological basis of spontaneous functional recovery activated by pathological intervention. |
Prerequisites | Physiological Psychology, Neuropsychology, General Psyhology |
Teaching methods | The course of Cognitive Neuroscience is provided for a total of 56 hours (8 cfu, 20 lessons; 2 or 3 hours each) of frontal teaching. |
Evaluation methods | In all exam sessions, students take an oral exam on all suggested chapters. The oral exam aims to assess the ability to describe the main theoretical models of normal and pathological cognitive functions and the biological bases of spontaneous functional recovery activated by the psychological intervention. Furthermore, the exam ascertains the ability to communicate clearly and unambiguously the design and operational theories of cognitive psychology and neuroscience. Specific attention is focused on the ability to clearly present the experiments described to introduce the main theories of cognitive neuroscience. Finally, students’ ability to create critical connections, the quality of the organization of the speech and of the exposition, the use of the specialized vocabulary as well as the relevance of the answer are evaluated. |
