L’insegnamento mira ad un approfondimento dello studio del linguaggio specialistico in inglese relativo all’area medico-infermieristica e sanitaria, focalizzandosi sulle strategie linguistiche e pragmatiche di testi a carattere scientifico.

Livello A2/B1 di inglese

Lezioni frontali basate sul libro di testo (coadiuvate da presentazioni Powerpoint) e audio integrate da momenti di lavoro a gruppi, sollecitando gli studenti a produrre a loro volta materiali specialistici orali e scritti in inglese da condividere con il resto del gruppo classe sulle diverse tematiche affrontate nelle lezioni.

Esame orale su contenuti dal libro ''Professional English in Use. Medicine”.
Tesina di 2000 parole su argomento specifico dell'ambito sanitario trattato durante il corso.
Parte grammaticale con traduzioni di frasi e domande di conversazione quotidiana, usando i tempi verbali studiati ed il vocabolario scientifico analizzato durante il corso.

Per approfondimenti o revisioni grammaticali, gli studenti potranno fare riferimento al libro di testo: “English Grammar in Use” di Raymond Murphy, with answers, edizione Cambridge

The teaching aims at deepening the study of specialized English language related to the medical, nursing, and healthcare fields, focusing on the linguistic and pragmatic strategies of scientific texts.

Level A2/ B1 of English

Lectures based on the textbook (supported by PowerPoint presentations) and audio materials, supplemented by group work activities. Students are encouraged to produce specialized oral and written materials in English to share with the rest of the class on the various topics covered during the lessons.

Oral exam on contents from the book “Professional English in Use: Medicine”.
A 2000-word paper on a specific healthcare-related topic covered during the course.
Grammar section with translations of sentences and everyday conversation questions, using the verb tenses studied and the scientific vocabulary analyzed during the course.

For further study or grammar review, students may refer to the textbook: English Grammar in Use by Raymond Murphy, with answers, Cambridge edition.
