Il corso affronta i principi fondamentali del primo soccorso e della gestione delle emergenze sanitarie in ambito extraospedaliero, con particolare riferimento alla valutazione primaria e secondaria della persona, alle tecniche di rianimazione cardiopolmonare di base e all’uso del DAE, alla gestione delle emergenze respiratorie, cardiocircolatorie, traumatiche e mediche, nonché al trattamento iniziale delle principali condizioni acute. Particolare attenzione è dedicata agli aspetti di prevenzione, sicurezza del soccorritore e al ruolo dell’Assistente Sanitario nella promozione della cultura del primo soccorso nella comunità.

Conoscenza e comprensione
Lo studente al termine del corso conoscerà:
- Principi del primo soccorso e della gestione delle emergenze;
- Fisiopatologia delle principali condizioni acute;
- Normativa di riferimento sul soccorso extraospedaliero;
- Ruolo dell’Assistente Sanitario nelle emergenze.

Capacità di applicare conoscenza
Lo studente al termine del corso saprà:
- Effettuare una valutazione del paziente in caso di emergenza;
- Applicare le tecniche di rianimazione cardiopolmonare di base (BLS);
- Applicare le tecniche di disostruzione delle vie aeree;
- Gestire le fasi iniziali di emorragie e traumi;
- Posizionare il paziente in modo sicuro.

Autonomia di giudizio
Lo studente al termine del corso saprà:
- Riconoscere la gravità delle situazioni;
- Stabilire priorità di intervento;
- Valutare i rischi per sé e per la vittima.

Abilità comunicative
Lo studente al termine del corso saprà:
- Comunicare in modo efficace con il 112/118;
- Comunicare con il paziente e i familiari in situazioni di emergenza;
- Trasmettere le informazioni cliniche in modo strutturato durante un'emergenza.

Capacità di apprendimento
Lo studente al termine del corso effettuerà:
- Aggiornamento continuo sulle linee guida di emergenza/urgenza;
- Autovalutazione delle competenze pratiche apprese.

Per la frequenza del corso sono richieste conoscenze di base di anatomia e fisiologia umana, in particolare relative agli apparati cardiocircolatorio e respiratorio, nonché nozioni introduttive di igiene e prevenzione. È inoltre utile possedere competenze preliminari di educazione alla salute e capacità di comunicazione con l’utenza, funzionali alla gestione delle situazioni di emergenza e al corretto approccio al soccorso.

- Lezioni frontali (8 ore);
- Esercitazioni in aula (2 ore).

Esame orale.
L'esame sarà superato se lo studente sarà in grado di capacità di collegamenti critici e di sintesi tra i diversi argomenti delle lezioni. Sarà valutato positivamente l'utilizzo di un lessico specialistico e la capacità di approfondimento.
Non sarà consentito l'utilizzo di materiale di supporto durante l'esame.

Sarà consegnato agli studenti il materiale digitale visionato durante le lezioni (es. Riferimenti normativi, slides, schede di esercitazione).
Sono garantite attività di tutorato al fine di facilitarne il cursus studiorum.

The course addresses the fundamental principles of first aid and the management of health emergencies in the pre-hospital setting, with particular reference to primary and secondary assessment, basic life support techniques and the use of the AED, the management of respiratory, cardiovascular, traumatic and medical emergencies, as well as the initial treatment of the main acute conditions. Special attention is given to prevention, rescuer safety and to the role of the Health Assistant in promoting a culture of first aid within the community.

Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student will have knowledge of:
- Principles of first aid and emergency management;
- Pathophysiology of the main acute conditions;
- Relevant legislation on pre-hospital emergency care;
- The role of the Health Assistant in emergency situations.

Applying knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Perform patient assessment in emergency situations;
- Apply basic life support (BLS) techniques;
- Perform airway obstruction relief techniques;
- Manage the initial phases of hemorrhages and trauma;
- Position the patient safely.

Making judgements
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize the severity of clinical situations;
- Set priorities for intervention;
- Assess risks for themselves and for the victim.

Communication skills
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Communicate effectively with the emergency medical services (112/118);
- Communicate with patients and relatives in emergency situations;
- Convey clinical information in a structured manner during emergencies.

Learning skills
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Continuously update their knowledge on emergency guidelines;
- Perform self-assessment of the practical skills acquired.

Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, particularly related to the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as introductory notions of hygiene and prevention, are required to attend the course. Preliminary competencies in health education and communication with users are also useful, as they support the management of emergency situations and the correct approach to first aid.

Oral exam.
The exam will be passed if the student demonstrates the ability to make critical connections and synthesize the different topics covered in the lessons. The use of specialized terminology and the ability to provide in-depth analysis will be positively assessed.
The use of supporting materials during the exam is not allowed.

Digital materials used during the lessons (e.g., regulatory references, slides, exercise sheets) will be provided to the students. Tutoring activities are also offered to support and facilitate their study path.
