CONOSCENZA E CAPACITÀ DI COMPRENSIONE
Lo studente acquisisce conoscenze di base in ambito medico-legale, con particolare riferimento alla certificazione di morte, all’esame esterno del cadavere e ai principi di classificazione delle lesioni traumatiche. Comprende i criteri per la diagnosi differenziale tra lesioni contusive, da arma da taglio e da arma da fuoco.
CAPACITÀ DI APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE
Lo studente è in grado di applicare le conoscenze acquisite nella redazione di un certificato di morte e nell’esecuzione dell’esame esterno del cadavere. Sa riconoscere e distinguere le principali tipologie di lesioni traumatiche, contribuendo al corretto inquadramento medico-legale sotto supervisione.
AUTONOMIA DI GIUDIZIO
Lo studente sviluppa capacità di valutazione critica nell’analisi dei reperti medico-legali, formulando ipotesi interpretative sulle cause e modalità delle lesioni.
ABILITÀ COMUNICATIVE
Lo studente acquisisce la capacità di redigere documentazione medico-legale in modo chiaro, accurato e conforme alle normative vigenti. È in grado di utilizzare un linguaggio tecnico appropriato nella comunicazione di dati e rilievi medico-legali.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO
Lo studente sviluppa capacità di apprendimento autonomo nell’ambito della medicina legale, aggiornandosi sulla normativa e sulle procedure operative. È in grado di integrare le conoscenze medico-legali con la pratica clinica e con i principi etico-giuridici della professione medica.

Conoscenze di base in Anatomia, Fisiologia, Patologia generale come richieste dal Consiglio della Scuola di Medicina e Chirurgia

Le attività formative sono svolte in contesti clinico-assistenziali reali e prevedono: discussione guidata di casi clinici, coinvolgimento progressivo dello studente nelle attività assistenziali secondo un modello di responsabilità crescente. La frequenza è obbligatoria per poter accedere alla prova finale di valutazione.

La verifica dell’apprendimento si basa su un quiz a risposte multiple ed esame orale sulle conoscenze di base di etica medica e medicina legale e sul ragionamento seguito dagli studenti nella discussione dei casi. La valutazione tende a verificare lo spirito critico dello studente nell’affrontare le diverse tematiche poste dalla patologia di interesse medico-legale
La votazione finale è espressa in 30/30 con finestra che va da un minimo di 18 punti a un massimo di 30.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student acquires basic knowledge in legal medicine, with particular reference to death certification, external examination of the body, and the classification of traumatic injuries. They understand the criteria for differential diagnosis between blunt force injuries, sharp force injuries, and firearm-related injuries.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
The student is able to apply acquired knowledge in completing a death certificate and performing an external examination of a body. They can recognize and differentiate the main types of traumatic injuries, contributing to proper medico-legal assessment under supervision.
MAKING JUDGMENTS
The student develops critical evaluation skills in the analysis of medico-legal findings, formulating interpretative hypotheses regarding causes and mechanisms of injury.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
The student is able to produce clear, accurate, and legally compliant medico-legal documentation. They use appropriate technical language when communicating medico-legal findings.
LEARNING SKILLS
The student develops autonomous learning skills in legal medicine, keeping up to date with regulations and procedures. They are able to integrate medico-legal knowledge with clinical practice and the ethical-legal principles of the medical profession.

In order to attend the course proficiently, the students will need to have a well- established background in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, as specifically indicated by the Council of the Medicine and Surgery School.

The training activities are carried out in real-world clinical-care settings and include guided discussion of clinical cases, progressive student involvement in care activities according to a model of increasing responsibility. Attendance is compulsory to gain access to the final evaluation test.

Evaluation of student proficiency is based on both written and oral test (viva voce). The written test consists of multiple choice questions meant to evaluate the basic knowledge of legal medicine and the student’s ability to discuss medical ethics, to assess the death, to do an external examination differentiating between the main types of injuries. The questions will be as specific to evaluate the basic knowledge of the above topics. In order to pass the written part of the exam and access to the viva voce, the student must obtain a score of 20.
The oral exam will cover all the aspects of the theory of legal medicine. The student should be able to discuss on the topics and be able to connect and analyze the different subjects. The aim is to judge the knowledge as well as the critical opinion on the topic that the students should develop after the course.
In order to test the acquisition of this ability the student will be asked to solve simple clinical oriented problem, e.g recognize the cause and manner of death based on injuries and findings after autopsy and/or external examination. The final grade is expressed in 30/30 were 18 represents the minimum and 30 the maximum and it is established during the oral exam while the written test only gives access to the oral part of the exam.The learning assessment is based on a multiple-choice quiz and oral exam on basic knowledge of medical ethics and forensics and the reasoning students follow in discussing cases. The assessment tends to verify the student's critical spirit in addressing the various issues posed by the pathology of medico-legal interest. The final vote is cast in 30/30 with a window ranging from a minimum of 18 points to a maximum of 30.
